I recently began my 73rd orbit around the Sun. I like to wax nostalgic at times like these.

I grew up in Houston when it still had a small-town feel. The state bird was the mosquito. Stifling humidity kept you moist and supple, slowing the inevitable advance of wrinkles. As a result, everyone looked ten years younger than they were. Every dark cloud has a ‘wrinkle-free’ silver lining.
