Before you treat a disease, you have to diagnose it. Violence against women is epidemic in the United States. Four lives a day are taken, and millions live in terror or face the torture of rape, beatings, stalkings and abuse.

Even those of us who are not direct victims are impacted by living in a world where violence is both common and normalized because “she is a woman.”
