Election Day: Polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m

Today is the last chance to cast ballots on 11 constitutional amendments regarding, among other issues, eminent domain, the state’s authority to boost veteran services and the direction of Texas collegial research institutions.

So far, 3 percent of registered voters turned out to vote in the early voting period from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30.

At least 2,370 people have already voted, said Comal County Clerk Joy Streater.

“We had around 500 people show up Friday,” said Linnell Hinojosa, election supervisor.

The county has 22 polling locations, 12 of them in New Braunfels, for today’s general election.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In order to vote, bring a voter’s registration card or driver’s license. Voters must use the polling location for the precinct where they are registered.

Streater said each station has an adequate number of polling booths and is fully staffed.

“All of our polling places will be open,” Streater said. “We could have consolidated down to five or six (locations), but I
