Colette Van Horn of Garden Ridge and Robert Van Horn of Converse proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Brianne Candice Van Horn to Derek Russell Nelson, son of David and Arlene Nelson of Sealy.
Brianne is the granddaughter of Clifford and Marlene Friesenhahn of Garden Ridge, Shirley and Robert Wenske of Jourdanton and the late Robert Van Horn Sr.. Derek is the grandson of Milton Nelson of Columbus and the late Betty Jean Nelson, LaVerne Poenitzsch and Gilbert Poenitzsch.
Brianne is a 2000 graduate of Canyon High School and a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She currently works as Branch Manager/Banking Officer at Jefferson Bank in New Braunfels.
Derek is a 2000 graduate of Sealy High School and a 2005 graduate of St. Mary’s University where he earned a business degree in financial services and risk management. He is currently working as an independent equities and commodities trader.
The couple will be united in marriage on October 24, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Selma.
