Quiet on the set!

We are back in the movie business.
At first Sierra’s plan this summer was to do a daily newscast until she realized it took her 3 hours to do a news cast. So she has opted to move on to bigger productions, complete with a co-star—her sister (Mireya’s previous credit was as the weather girl on the first and only newscast of the summer).
There’s nothing like coming home and having your six year old greet you in a costume consisting of a sun hat, green top, purse and shoebox/briefcase and saying “I’m you!”
For the record I never wear sun hats. But that’s how it is when they cast another actress. She brings her own style to the role.
Now that Sierra’s on another movie production streak, we’ve all got to be a little more self-aware. Especially since this looks to be a slightly more professional endeavor, complete with script and a curious lack of dogs. (Frankly I’m grateful that dogs are not in this film. There are only so many times you can watch a dog catch a ball and look enthusiastic.)
We have to be prepared for change. For example, instead of my usual hug and kiss greeting when I got home I was immediately shushed and sent to my room lest I ruin a “take.”
Sent to my quiet room, alone with a book for HOURS. Can I just say I love production days?
I was even forbidden to wash dishes because of the noise. Certainly it was a sacrifice on my part, but you do what you can when you’re in the middle of the movie shoot.
I have no idea what the movie is about, because it was a little hard to follow all the shouts of “Lights! Action!” and “No! Not that!” and bursts of laughter. Perhaps it’s a documentary/comedy/action movie. I know there is a scene involving a tooth brush. There is also much doorbell ringing.
Dogs were fed several times, the cat was chased about, and there were several costume changes. I made a brief cameo appearance, which I hope means I’ll get another role. I don’t think I flubbed my lines too badly.
Unfortunately while dishwashing was mentioned, none were actually washed.
You know the movies. It’s all special effects.
