When should I receive my tax bill?
Tax statements from the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector were sent Tuesday and should begin landing in local mailboxes this week.
The Guadalupe County tax office sent out its bills on Oct. 1. If you have not received your bill by the end of October, you are urged to contact the county tax office.
How long do I have to pay my bill? Payment to local tax offices are due by Jan. 31. Beginning Feb. 1, bills will begin accruing additional penalties and interest, which go up for every month they continue to be past due.
What if I can’t pay the full amount?
The tax offices in both the Comal and Guadalupe County offer payment options for residents who cannot pay the total amount owed in one installment. Comal offers partial payments until Jan. 31, meaning residents can pay in as many installments as they like before Jan. 31 before any penalties are levied. Both tax offices allow seniors and the disabled to pay their bill in four equal installments. The Tax Assessor-Collectors for each county urged residents who are struggling to pay their bill to contact the tax office to work out payment plans.
