Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Reed Brown Jr.

Jamie Gallaway Dodson and Jeffrey Reed Brown Jr., were united in marriage, Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 6 o’clock in the evening at T Bar M Ranch in New Braunfels. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James “Doc” Dodson of Midland, Texas, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.K. McMullan of Big Lake, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde H. Dodson of Fort Worth, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Reed Brown Sr., of The Woodlands, Texas, and the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Swietzer of Tyler, Texas, and the late Mrs. Edna Reed of Texarkana, Texas. Special guests of the bride were her Godparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Kent of Bryan, Texas.  The outdoor wedding set among the wildflowers of the Texas Hill Country was officiated by Johnny Polk, Camp Director of T Bar M Sports Camp and longtime friend and mentor to the bride and groom.

The wedding began with the bride’s goddaughters, Mary Catherine Lane of Lubbock and Anna-Nicole Morris of Austin, carrying wooden crosses strung with bells down the aisle and presenting them in memory of the bride and groom’s grandparents. Randy Sims of Midland read scripture and shared the stories of how the bride and groom first met and when Jeff asked her father for her hand in marriage. To share in the celebration, the congregation was asked to stand together and sing “How Great Thou Art” as Will Stevens of New Braunfels led them in worship. Lee Ellen Speckman of New Braunfels provided music for the ceremony, as well as vocalist Brett Mosher of New Braunfels, singing “My Tribute.” The bride was then given away by her father, James “Doc” Dodson, and nephew, Sam Henry Hullender of Midland.

Kelly Dodson Hullender of Midland, sister of the bride, and Anna-Margaret Morris of Austin served as Matrons of Honor. Serving as the maids of honor were Meredith Blair Hullender and Millicent Brooke Hullender of Midland, nieces of the bride. Bridesmaids included Kelli D’Lynn Boyd of New Braunfels, Dalinda Sterlene Cauble of Houston, Meredith Chandler Chukhadarian of Los Angeles, Calif., Julie Ann Cranford of Granbury, Lynette Neidert Darby of Leawood, Kan., Elizabeth Ailene Davis of Washington, D.C., Gina Crawford Hovis of Knoxville, Tenn., Mandy Elizabeth Richardson of Edmond, Okla., sister of the groom, and Tammy Annette Scott of Austin, sister of the groom. The flower girls were Samantha Ann Scott, Hannah Avery Scott, and Megan Elizabeth Scott of Austin, nieces of the groom. The bride’s honorary attendants were Jill Rene Bassett, Sherry Lynn Forester, Bonnie Michele Martin, Cheri Weyers Polk, DeeDee Wilson Roberts, Leslie Kae Sauls, Carol Clendenin Snider, Della Grace Stevens, Gaye Lynn Toppert, Amy Barry Wright, and Kortni Elizabeth Wright all of New Braunfels, Sarah Marie Grimme and Johnna Rogers Johnston both of College Station, Katie Schrank Chapman of Leakey, and Amy Jo Sims of Midland. The house party included the bride’s Bible Study girls Casey Elizabeth Bassett, Bethany Michelle Hood, Shelby Alysse Kotylo, Mallory Kathryn Miner, Rebecca Lynn Myer, Autumn Wadene Reno, Lindsay Nicole Toppert, Michelle Lee Whitley and Natalie Kate Wright, all of New Braunfels.

Serving the groom as best man was William Hardgrave Johnston of College Station. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Wayne Cowgill of Texarkana, cousin of the groom, Timothy Derek Fowler of Beebe, Ark., cousin of the groom, Todd Allan Hullender of Midland, brother-in- law of the bride, Donnie Ray Massengale Jr. of The Woodlands, Kirk Anthony Knoyes of The Woodlands, Josh Philip Phair of Scottsdale, Ariz., Eric Bryant Richardson of Edmond, Okla., brother-in-law of the groom, Nathan Jesse Scott of Austin, brother-in-law of the groom, and Ernest Chad Williams of Breaux Bridge, La. The groom’s nephews, Jacob Reed Richardson and Ethan Wallace Richardson of Edmond, Okla., served as ring bearers. Ushers for the wedding were Steven Chance Cozby, Matthew Douglas Rollins and Michael Harrison Spencer all of Phoenix, Ariz., Dustan Ryan Fowler of Beebe, Ark., cousin of the groom, Jeffrey Donald Heitt of Scottsdale, Ariz., Micah Bryant Richardson of Edmond, Okla., nephew of the groom, and Scott Anthony Sullivan of Cave Creek, Ariz. 

The ceremony concluded with the congregation standing once again and singing “Great is Thy Faithfulness” in celebration of the Lord’s faithfulness. The guests were then treated to a reception on the grounds of T Bar M, where they enjoyed dinner and dancing to the music of Max Class and The Class Act. 

The bride is a 1990 graduate of Midland High School in Midland and a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University. The groom is a 1992 graduate of Carencro High School in Carencro, La., and a 1997 graduate of Texas A&M University.

After spending their honeymoon in Kapalua, Maui, the couple will reside in Phoenix, Ariz. where the groom is employed with PING Golf.
