Josephine Jewell Surface Josephine Jewell Surface, age 85, left this life that she so loved on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 in New Braunfels. Josephine was born in Waco, Texas, on Feb. 8, 1924 to Joe and Alpha Jewell. She was preceded in death by, her husband, Lt Col Clifford L. Surface USAF (Ret). Josephine is survived by son, Stephen Surface of Universal City, Texas; daughter, Jo Ann Surface of New Braunfels and her loving companion, Mr. Mac. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. You are invited to sign the guest book at www.porterloring.com.
