Helen M. Peterson
Helen M. Peterson, 94, of Woodstock, died Sunday Nov.1, 2009 at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock. She was born in Woodstock on May 10, 1915 to Richard and Mina (Wiefel) Miller. She married Albert Peterson on June 26, 1935 in Woodstock. Helen and Albert met the Todd School for Boys. Following their marriage, they farmed in Franklinville for many years. Helen loved to cook and always enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hebron.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Patricia) Peterson of Hebron; her two daughters, Ruth (Ray) Ellsworth of Indianapolis, Ind., and Carol (Richard) Hansen of New Braunfels; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Peterson; her sister, Martha Raffel; her brother, Walter Miller; a grandson, Timothy Peterson; an infant grandson, Leroy Peterson; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Hallerud.
A visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. will be held on Friday Nov. 6, 2009 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave. in Woodstock. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 9812 81. Albans St. in Hebron. Burial will be at McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
