New Braunfels’ Kendrick Thompson looks to bring down Clemens quarterback Max DiDomenico during Friday’s district game at Unicorn Stadium.

The Unicorns fell victim to the magic of Max DiDomenico on Friday night during a crushing 45-44 loss that ended New Braunfels’ hopes of a return to the Class 6A playoffs.

DiDomenico led a second-half avalanche that saw the Buffs score 28 points and rally in the final minute. Clemens’ senior quarterback directed a late nine-play, 64-yard touchdown drive and capped it with his own 1-yard run to tie the ballgame.
