The COVID-19 pandemic is a tale of numbers, but it’s far more than that.

As of Friday, Comal County is reporting 72 deaths associated with the disease. More than 9,200 have died across the state, more than 167,000 across the country, more than 760,000 around the world. Experts say the actual death toll is likely higher than those figures.
