Dismayed by recent school district or local government decisions? Events of the past year highlight the impact government decisions and policies at many levels can have on each of us. As responses to the pandemic ricocheted from federal to state to county and municipal governments, the Texas power grid failed, leaving millions without power or water and wondering who let this happen and what can we do to prevent it from happening again.

A fundamental and simple action we can each take is to VOTE! In the Comal Area, voter turnout was at a record high in the 2020 national election but turnout in local municipal and school district elections historically has been less than half the turnout for national elections and in some cases, less than 10% of eligible voters.
