Leonard Egon Kraft passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the age of 76. Leonard was born to the late Walter Kraft and Hertha Timmermann Kraft on October 18, 1936 in Comal County, Texas.

He is survived by Doris Ann, his loving wife of 56 years, daughter Deloris Kraft-Longoria and husband Mark Longoria, son Lonnie Kraft, and daughter-in-law Debbie Kraft. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael Kraft and wife Michelle, Danabra Kraft, Delarry Kraft, Tristain Longoria, Danyella Longoria, and Luke Kraft. Other survivors include his sister Lydia Boenig and sister-in-law Betty Kraft. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Larry Kraft, and his brothers Alex and Reinhold Kraft.

Leonard spent his entire life in and around New Braunfels. He was born at Cranes Mill and went to school at Thornhill in Gruene. He was a member of the Texas National Guard (36th Infantry Division, 36 Medic) and a bricklayer in his early career. He then spent many years farming and ranching in the local area.

Leonard most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, hunting, raising his cattle, attending auctions and the horse races.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 29th from 4 – 8PM at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Services will be Friday November 30th at 2PM at Friedens United Church of Christ in Geronimo.

Family requests that memorial donations be made to Friedens Church or Comal County Junior Livestock Association.
