Glenn W. Hitzfelder passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 63.

He was born to Margyline Hitzfelder and the late Leonard Hitzfelder on October 14, 1949. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Protestant Church.

He is survived by Gloria, his loving wife of 41 years, son Gene and wife Rachel, son Gerald and wife Alice, mother Margyline, brother Dan and wife Janice, brother Leonard Jr. and wife Jayne, granddaughters Monique and Athena, and 5 nieces and nephews.

During his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and antiquing. In his teenage years, he played Babe Ruth baseball and was the pitcher of the All Star Team. He played the trumpet in the Flying Dutchman Band.

He became a general contractor in 1972. He built many homes here in New Braunfels. They owned the Downtowner Antique Mall from 1984 to 2002. He enjoyed retirement and family time until his last day.

He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Glenn’s services will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28 from 4-8pm. The family will be present from 5-7pm. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, November 29 at 10am. Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials in honor of Glenn be given to: The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX75284-1125 or
