NEW BRAUNFELS — Boasting a guest list of thousands, the 11th annual New Braunfels Community Thanksgiving Dinner reminds one of the spirit of the original day when Native Americans shared food with the Pilgrims.

Hosted by Central Texas Advocates for Seniors, the free dinner lasts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, when about 450 volunteers hope to serve more than 2,000 diners at the McKenna Event Center, said Iris Bowden, chair of the CTAS board of directors.
