Comal County’s unemployment rate improved to 6.8 percent in March, down from 6.9 percent reported in February, according to figures released by Workforce Solutions. 

Comal County’s unemployment rate was much lower than the overall jobless rate of 7.3 percent for the 12-county Workforce Solutions Alamo area, which includes Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson counties. Gillespie County registered the lowest unemployment rate in March amongst the counties at 4.9 percent, and Karnes County registered the highest rate at 8.4 percent.
