Veterans Day is Sunday, and some local offices will be observing the holiday on Monday.

Comal County offices will be closed Monday, but all city of New Braunfels offices, facilities and services will remain open.

The Comal County Recycling Center, 281 Resource Drive in New Braunfels, which is usually closed Mondays, will instead be closed Tuesday in observance of the holiday. The recycling drop-off point in Spring Branch will be closed Monday, but recycling in Garden Ridge and Startzville will take place as usual on Tuesday.

Most area banking and savings institutions will be closed Monday. All federal offices, including the U.S. Post Office, will be closed. State offices, including the Texas Department of Public Safety’s office in New Braunfels, will also take the day off.

New Braunfels and Comal independent school district offices and campuses, New Braunfels Utilities offices and the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung will also be open on Monday. County parks facilities in the Canyon Lake and Bulverde/Spring Branch areas will be open to the public throughout the holiday weekend.
