I agree that NBPD were the heroes of this story and if the gun malfunctioned he would have likely ran her over or killed her some other way. Poor writing by the reporter.

I've let this article sit in my mind for the last day. Why doesn't the opening sentence from the article read, "A Seguin woman staying with her parents in New Braunfels owes her life to a malfunctioning gun and three heroes from the New Braunfels Police Departmemt"? That gun wouldn't have malfunctioned forever had they not been there.
