New Braunfels residents were among those in South Central Texas who reported seeing a fireball falling through the sky at about 11:40 a.m. Monday.

“It could have been a meteorite or maybe some space junk coming into the atmosphere,” said Monte Oaks, a meteorologist with the New Braunfels office of the National Weather Service.
