Alligator Creek

A sign along the Interstate 35 frontage road marking Alligator Creek is partly covered by tree branches Friday.

New Braunfels City Council members on Monday are expected to take up consideration of submitting an application to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Recreational Trail Grant Program to help fund the development of the Alligator Creek Trail.

Approval would allow staff to submit a grant application on behalf of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to state officials for funding of up to $250,000 for proposed hike and bike trail extensions within the Alligator Creek watershed, a major creek corridor in the northern and eastern portions of the city.
