Just as Sheriff Mark Reynolds predicted, corrections staffers began moving into the new Comal County Jail just after sunrise Monday.

“We have so much more room here to work,” Corrections Officer Brett Becker said of the $72 million, 585-bed facility at the corner of South Water Lane and Interstate 35. “It gives our officers many more options for housing inmates compared to the old facility.”
