Plans to hold a New Braunfels city charter amendment special election on Nov. 3 will move forward after city council members on Monday declined to take action on a proposal to postpone the poll until next year.

In April, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the council postponed the May charter amendment special election to Nov. 3, as allowed by Gov. Greg Abbott under a proclamation temporarily suspending certain provisions of the Texas Election Code.
