George Strait

When the weatherman reported that a cold front was coming and that temperatures would drop to a frosty 97 degrees, I felt it was safe to venture outside.

As I relaxed on my back porch, I spotted what looked like a red wasp but this one was huge, the size of a hummingbird. After chasing it around the porch with my trusty flyswatter, I finally killed the big bug. I was sure it was a murder hornet and that they were finally here to put the final nail in this year’s coffin. I sent a picture of the massive winged creature to local bee expert Charlie Agar.
