Q. The weed bedstraw is taking over my yard. How do I get it back in control?

A. Bedstraw grows very quickly but, in some ways, it is easy to control. It is very responsive to the contact herbicide “Weed Free Zone.” You can spray and kill it on the lawn with one or more versions of the herbicide. Bedstraw also is easy to rake. Large masses of the plant scrunch up into compact rolls when you rake it from the shrub border or lawn edge.
