As a wanna-be gardener with one season of successful plant raising, I have a lot to learn about flora. After years of killing every potted plant in my possession, this year I have several battle scarred veterans who have survived for another spring.

Not over watering, paying attention to the sun, watching out for freezing, then watering every single day during the summer — these were all key to my development as a newbie gardener. But possibly the most important thing I learned is that not all plants, specifically ones with pretty white flowers, deserve love.
