A New Braunfels man died after losing control of his vehicle in San Marcos during Friday night’s heavy rain event.

San Marcos police, fire and EMS were dispatched at 10:45 p.m. to a major accident on IH-35 at the Highway 123 overpass.

Kristy Stark, director of communications for the city of San Marcos said the crash happened during the storms, and that the driver of a 2010 Honda lost control and struck the center concrete divider, spinning back into the lane of traffic and into the path of a 2014 Ford F-150.

The Ford struck the Honda on the driver’s side, sending the Honda back into the concrete divider. Stark said witnesses at the scene said the passenger in the Honda was unresponsive.

When the first responders arrived, they administered CPR and medical care to the passenger, identified as Enedina Roman, 62. Roman was taken to Seton Medical Center Hay in Kyle and underwent surgery. Her prognosis is unknown at this time.

The driver of the Honda, identified as Pedro Roman-Abarca, 68, is a New Braunfels resident, and was taken to Central Texas Medical Center.

Roman-Abarca did not survive and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Maggie H. Moreno.

He was then transported to Central Texas Autopsy in Lockhart, and his next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

Both vehicles have been towed and taken to SMPD for further investigation.

Our police department is pretty active and is always trying to do anything important for the protection of the citizens. I was shocked when I read this article on schoolbubble source. This was a very brutal thing that a man was shoot but I am expecting that police department has find out the killer.
