New Braunfels police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old New Braunfels man found shot in a local hotel on Monday morning.

Authorities were called to the Rodeway Inn in the 1200 block of N. Interstate 35 at 2:30 a.m. for a report of a gunshot victim. 

Police say inside one of the hotel rooms they found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Rust arrived, pronounced the male deceased and ordered an autopsy. The victim has been identified as Maximiliano Miranda, 18.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
