Broadway Bank is pleased to announce that long time banking leader Harvey P. Hartenstine has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Hartenstine joined the bank in 1992 and has nearly 40 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. He currently serves as the Chief Banking Executive where he provides leadership for Private Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Treasury Solutions and Consumer Banking. His appointment expands the board to 13 directors.

“I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Harvey for his dedicated service, insights and contributions,” said Jim Goudge, Chairman. “He has certainly had a positive impact on Broadway Bank, and I’m confident that his expanded leadership as a member of the Board of Directors will have a meaningful influence on the bank’s future.”

Hartenstine has served in various leadership roles at Broadway Bank, including President of the Austin Region where he led the bank’s successful expansion north in 2012. The growth of the bank in Austin exceeded expectations and was based on Hartenstine’s ability to create a great team of experienced bankers and cultivate long-term client relationships. The bank’s locally held deposits jumped 50 percent in five years as of December 2018. During that same time period, Broadway Bank underwrote nearly $350 million in loans.

In addition to his executive career, Hartenstine holds board membership positions with several organizations such as the TBA Services Company (TBASCO) Board where he serves as Chairman, President’s Council of Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation CHRISTUS Health Board of Directors.

“Throughout its history, Broadway Bank has evolved with the financial industry, changing how business is done while leading the local market in customer service,” said CEO David Bohne. “A major part of innovating is not forgetting what made you a market leader in the first place. Harvey is looking to drive Broadway forward, while representing what already makes it special.”

Hartenstine said, “We’re on a journey to provide exceptional customer experiences—both face-to-face and digitally. We’re committed to bringing the best new products, new services and new experiences. I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors and help this bank continue to grow and innovate.”

Hartenstine has degrees from the Graduate School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, a Master of Business from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University. He currently serves on the Banker Advisory Board for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In addition to Hartenstine, Broadway Bank’s board includes: Dan Bates, Michael Belz, David Bohne, Carlos Cerna, Jean Cheever, Jim Goudge, Suzanne Goudge, Carolyn Labatt, David Ladensohn, Joe McKinney, Rick Timmins and Mike Venson.
